“Behind closed eyes I am thinking about my sport. The sport that I enjoy doing most. Training, training, training. Competitions in the Netherlands. Competitions in Germany. Competitions in England. Together, team, cups, medals. Behind closed eyes I think of all those cool moments. Behind closed eyes there are tears running down my cheeks, I think about the moment I had to stop. Stupid knee. Quitting what I loved doing most. Dancing.
Behind closed eyes I now think about later. My dream. Living in Spain. With my eyes closed, the sun on my face and my feet in the sand.
Behind closed eyes I think about my other dream. I’m going to be a teacher. Do I stay in the Netherlands after all? Thinking about the future with my eyes open. It will be alright.”
